Messes, Music, and Make-Believe: The Illinois Early Learning Development Standards through the Arts

In this interactive webinar, we will explore how the Arts (visual arts, music, dance, and drama) can provide rich opportunities for children to explore the skills described in the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards (IELDS). Participants will explore the frameworks of the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale-3 (ECERS-3) and IELDS and learn practical strategies they can use to set up developmentally appropriate arts experiences for the young children in their classrooms and programs. Participants will also be given guidance for searching the Illinois Early Learning Project (www.illinoisearlylearning.org) website for evidence-based resources they can use in the classroom and provide to families that demonstrate the ways arts can provide meaningful learning experiences for young children.
