We know that reading books with children builds literacy skills and makes lifelong readers. How can we help children be interested in and get the most out of story time? In this session we will explore how we can make complex story books understandable, enjoyable, and powerful for literacy learning. We will use “repeated interactive read-aloud” strategies so participants will gain a better understanding of the reading approaches behind Creative Curriculum and other widely used curricula. Resources for further study will be included.
