Administrator Forum Session V- Play-Based Equitable Early Language and Literacy

Participants will engage in an interactive session on the Early Childhood Education and Care aspects of the new Illinois Comprehensive Literacy plan and how to support staff and engage families with evidenced- based, play-based, and developmentally appropriate literacy strategies to ensure access to speaking, reading, writing, and listening for all students, including children with disabilities and those that are identified as multilingual learners. Participants will also discuss literacy as an equity driver when using the learning standards to implement curriculum, instruction, assessment, across all domains including social emotional development, learning and competency.
