Developing language in the early childhood settings: Strategies that make a difference!

**Participants do not need to be fluent in their student’s languages to attend this session.

Oral communication is a 21st Century skill that opens doors and paves our way to a world of possibilities in our social and academic lives. In dual language classrooms, this skill is magnified when educators capitalize on children’s inclination to prioritize communication and have fun with language. This presentation will discuss essential strategies that build agency and empower children to become effective communicators and socially connected learners. We focus on what teachers can do daily to promote children’s oracy in their first and second language.
