Enhancing Collaboration through Communication between Families and Early Childhood Professionals

Many educational decisions are made based on the trust built between professional partnerships families and educational professionals. Early childhood students are best supported when strong collaborative relationships exist before there are challenges. This session will assist family members and early childhood professionals in learning how to create trusting professional partnerships so that students and families have successful school experiences.

Objectives:

  1. Deepen our understanding of the central role, rights, and responsibilities of families within family-professional partnerships.
  2. Learn the primary tenants of strong family-school partnerships.
  3. Gain strategies for improving communication between families and professionals to improve family-to-professional partnerships.
