Equity Symposium: How do children develop languages? Implications for Educators in Diverse Settings

In this session, presenters will address how educators can provide equitable access to early childhood education by designing culturally and linguistically responsive instruction. Emphasis will be placed on strategies that promote quality language input that is comprehensible and connected to children’s funds of knowledge. We will discuss the significance of purposefully planned authentic instruction as the foundation for children’s learning.

Recommended prerequisite:  Dr. Shantel Meek laid the groundwork for all of these sessions during the Sharing A Vision conference (October 8, 2021).  Her session will be available to view for credit as a stand alone asynchronous session prior to the Equity Symposium sessions.  You can register for that session here:  https://www.cvent.com/d/zmqq4z
