Lesson Planning for Early Learners: Creating High-Quality Plans and Adapting for Individual Students

In this session, we will discuss how to create high-quality lesson plans for early learners. Required components, as well as process, will be covered. Participants will:

  • Learn a variety of ways in which lesson plans can be individualized to meet the needs of specific children, including students with disabilities, very young children, and dual language learners
  • Understand how universal design for learning (UDL) and curriculum adaptations can be used to support individual students
  • Explore lesson planning resources from Illinois Early Learning

The presentation will include case study activities to practice application of new knowledge as well as time for questions and answers.
