Play-Based Equitable Early Language and Literacy

Participants will engage in an interactive session on the new Illinois Comprehensive Literacy plan and how to apply play-based and developmentally appropriate literacy strategies to ensure access to speaking, reading, writing, and listening for all students, including children with disabilities and those that are identified as multilingual learners. Participants will also discuss literacy as an equity driver, how to maximize the new Illinois Literacy Framework, and Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process to meet each learner where they are to be successful in literacy.
